Hi everyone! How are you!
Recently I spent most of my time on writing the thesis and programming, to be honest, the longer time I spent on it, the more interest I found 🙂 I think now most of us are surrounded by all kinds of news related to the virus. I need to admit that reading the news too much will make my mood become really bad and feel down.
One of my friend suggested me except the thesis, find something else to do, something that can make me feel relaxed and calm down. I found a poetry on my bookshelf given by my friend maybe two years ago. I have to say, when you experience more things, the better you can feel or understand the poem. Of course, different people have different understanding, but still the calm and peace it brought to me cannot be ignored. I want to share two poems with you. They all from Rabindranath Tagore (1861 – 1941), appears in Gitanjali.
Give me the strength
Give me the strength lightly to bear my joys and sorrows.
Give me the strength to make my love fruitful in service.
Give me the strength never to disown the poor or bend my knees before insolent might.
Give me the strength to raise my mind high above daily trifles.
And give me the strength to surrender my strength to thy will with love.
If the day is done
If the day is done, if birds sing no more, if the wind has flagged tired, then draw the veil of darkness thick upon me, even as thou hast wrapt the earth with the coverlet of sleep and tenderly closed the petals of the drooping lotus at dusk.
From the traveller, whose sack of provisions is empty before the voyage is ended, whose garment is torn and dustladen, whose strength is exhausted, remove shame and poverty, and renew his life like a flower under the cover of thy kindly night.
Anyway, enjoy the life ^^
