Perks of Being in an International Environment

It became a tradition in our class to have lunch or dinner after an exam or a presentation. After the first presentation of the semester, instead of going out to eat, we had a potluck dinner in one of the student apartments in Helsingborg this weekend. It was a mix of international students from different master programmes: Energy-efficient and Environmental Building Design (EEBD as we call it 😊), Strategic Communication and Service Management.

Potluck is basically a gathering where each guest contributes with often home-made food to share with each other. Having a potluck was a great idea in our case because we were supposed to bring something special from our own countries. As a result, there were more than 20 dishes from at least 10 countries. They all looked and tasted delicious and at the end of the night, almost nothing was left.

Home-made food from students and there was even more than this

In these kinds of events, you realize the perks of being in an international environment. Besides the good food, it gives you the opportunity to learn about other cultures by simply hanging out on a Saturday evening.

All in all, it was so much fun and I’m already looking forward to the next one!
