Congratulations on completing your first month studying at Lund University! By now you have hopefully settled into student life in Lund. You’ve nailed the most efficient cycling route from home to class, figured out that Willy’s offers the best grocery deals, that fresh produce is likely cheaper at the Arabic stores in town and maybe you’ve even started on your winter insulation thanks to copious fika breaks!

Fall has brought with it a crisp change in the air, apple trees are brimming with fruit and cycling adventures are awaiting! Skåne boasts some of the flattest topography in Europe so it’s time to take advantage of the long rides and lack of tiring elevation.

Head East to Södra Sandby, located roughly 10km from Lund C where you can find apple and pear trees, beautiful old windmills and sweet nature reserves. Along the way you’ll find many others enjoying the long flat stretch of biker friendly asphalt, even those practising their cross country skiing before the snow arrives.

Or head West to Lomma, also roughly 10km from Lund C and swim at the beach where you can gaze across the water at Copenhagen, Denmark!

Here are just two examples and both locations lie less than an hour cycle from Lund. Happy cycling!
