Celebrating your traditional festivals in Sweden

One of the biggest problems for people living in a foreign country is homesickness especially when it is the time to celebrate a traditional festival in your motherland. As a Chinese, Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) is the most important festival in a year for us and Chinese New Year 2017 was on Saturday, January 28th, 2017. That day, we Chinese students got together, also invited some foreign friends and cooked some Chinese traditional food to celebrate this important festival.

Sweden is an international country and you can have many chances to experience other cultures here. I attended a party with one Mexican friend to celebrate one of their festivals several months ago. It was an interesting and special experience to know some Mexican cultures and traditions.

When living in Sweden, you will not lose your traditions. You are not lonely, people embrace different cultures here.
