Housing Review

This gallery contains 6 photos.

Following the last posts aiming to support the new students in their search for housing, I will briefly compare my several experiences in Lund. I hope, those of you deciding which type of housing suits them better find it useful. Though the choice is limited and the situation remains quite complicated, try not to compromise the quality of your life … Continue reading

In the Middle of the Thesis

This week diploma thesis students from MARK and SUDes had a mid – crit. It had quite an informal character and the idea was to show work in progress to get a feedback from the examiner. For me, it was right on time since I had been at a point where I had to decide which way to take to … Continue reading

Mind the train!

Lund has a perfect connection to Copenhagen airport. Trains part every 20 minutes both ways and are always on time. The trip itself takes about 35 minutes or a bit longer with the passport control. What I like about Öresundståg is that it’s very spacious inside – even when it’s crowded, there’s still enough space for luggage, bikes, and prams. … Continue reading

Food in Nations

This gallery contains 2 photos.

Having no classes at school means more chances to have lunch in one of the nations. Now that I can start from A-building (or wherever I work on my thesis) earlier I can make it for one of those nations downtown. Here’s why I love it so much. It’s cheap (30-35 kr) and tastes good. It’s easy, it saves time – … Continue reading

Thesis Fuss

It’s been a long time since I posted last time, but today is a special day! Not only the spring semester started, but also some of my classmates and I finally handed our thesis registration forms to the international students’ coordinator. Why would a formality become such a big deal? The thing is, the paper shows that, first, the student … Continue reading

Days After the Final Presentation – still lots of things to do

Last week Sustainable Urban Dynamics course had the final presentation summarizing three months of our intensive work on the project in China. This time we received more critical comments from the jury and some of us got quite upset. Nevertheless, we’ve done a great job considering the workload and the constant lack of time. It is now the last phase … Continue reading

“The Dark Side of Sweden”

Winter is coming, days are now considerably shorter even here, in the south of Sweden. Once I came to school early in the morning to prepare for the review, when it was still dark, and finished when it was already dark outside. This might seem depressing, but think about the streets illumination, popping up all over the … Continue reading

Architect goes to China with SUDes

This gallery contains 4 photos.

There’s been already a lot said about the study trip to China with SUDes. For me this term is full of joy and excitement even though the course (Sustainable Urban Dynamics – as a MARK student I have a bit more freedom to choose my courses and thus could take it) is very intense and time consuming. So I join … Continue reading

Master Thesis Presentations

During the last two weeks I was attending master thesis presentations, both Architecture and Sustainable Urban Design ones. Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t do that last year, but it was a huge mistake. Following the conversation between the student and the examiners gives much more rather than just seeing the posters on exhibition, because it teaches you to … Continue reading

Architecture and Design Library. Make the most of it

Today I will talk about the library, which is one of my favourite spots at school. I know from my classmates that it often doesn’t make a good first impression because of the small size, but it’s misleading, trust me! First of all, people who work there are super nice and helpful. They can show you around if you ask … Continue reading
