Global Swede 2016 Ceremony

Hi everyone!

I must say that today is one of the greatest day in my life! I was nominated by Lund University to be the Global Swede 2016 nominee and I attended the ceremony with other nominees from the universities across Sweden. The ceremony was held in a really nice building of the Swedish Department of Foreign Affairs in Stockholm. The Global Swede is actually an initiative of the Swedish Government and the Swedish Institute to honour excellent foreign students in their role as future ambassadors of Sweden. The main purpose is to maintain the long-term networking with the international students after their studies here in Sweden. It is also a really good platform to keep in touch with other ambassadors from the other universities.

There were students from Ghana, Kongo, China, Thailand, Mexico, Chile and all other countries that I can’t say one by one. And the interesting part was that the embassy of the countries of the nominated students were also present at the ceremony. So, the representative of the Indonesian embassy was also there, I felt like I had the support from “home”.

All the nominees with their flags. We all want to bring the flags home, but too bad it wasn't allowed!

This is trully an unforgetable event in my life! Thank you so much Lund University and of course EEBD Master Programme to have chosen me. No words can explain how grateful I am for this experience. Studying in Sweden so far has been the best decision in my life. And for you who are reading this and coming soon to Sweden, I am sure you will experience all the greatness in your life studying here in Sweden, especially in Lund University! Hope you will be the next year’s nominee!
